i think so. it's completely arrogant to think that we're the only ones supposed to be here. it's like people rejecting the copernican heliocentric theory before technology proved he was right. before that we believed the earth was the center of everything; just like we still believe now that humans are the center of everything.
the problem is the time and place of existence of possible races. the universe is a big place and our means of detection not even good enough to go far very fast. our means of "communication" is through radio waves and stuff and they take millions of years to go far by standards of universe distance. the modern human race is not even that old. it's kind of like looking at a star and you saw it millions of years ago, but it might not even exist anymore today... same thing. we just don't know when and where.

Conspiracy theories aside, there isn't any public proof that they do exist. This is why space scientists search for indications of life and/or the building blocks of life. I have told people that there are only three acceptable numbers when it comes to many physical events including life (not necessarily intelligent) on other worlds --
Zero (the universe does not allow the event to occur)
One (There is a very particular set of circumstances that have to occur for the event to occur)
Inifinity (Once a second event happens, then there should be a commonality to allow multiple occurrences throughout the universe)
Hopefully, they'll be able to find the equivalent of chlorophyll on another planet. That would be a major step toward determining whether intelligent life exists elsewhere (I'm still waiting for them to prove it in Washington DC )

We do. Over the centuries, your planet was a curious place to visit once or twice and was not considered very interesting . Sure, your wars showed us how undeveloped you are as a species and your infantile,(in cosmic terms) dependence on god concepts does not bode well for you. We are now showing an interest in you because it is not often that we get to observe a species commit suicide. You are so close to maturing as a sentient species and it will be a shame to see you kill yourselves. There are just not enough of you becoming rational enough to force the issue. You let the least among you determine your fate, so be it.

To think that Earth contains the only life in the infinite universe is a bit arrogant, isn't it?

Nobody knows yet, but with the size of the universe, I'd say it's a certainty there's a lot of life out there - much of it intelligent.
I also tend to think there'll be some trace of simple life on Mars, even if now extinct, and there'll be life in Europa's ocean too.

I believe there are other life forms out there, but I don't believe in the existance of space ships and aliens who abduct humans for their own personal experiments. I believe perhaps forms of bacteria, animals, plantation, and such exist, but no aliens...I think it's a myth...

oh yea definetly......
From time to time you hear it in the news....you asking when? where? why? and how?...
Well, the word "alien" means strange and not familiar. So you hear sometimes in the news a new species of flowers, or birds, or planst, or fish in the deep deep sea has been found where scientist have not seen before.
There you go...aliens do exist....

Here's a breeding pair that came to earth in the 1940s.
They've been hanging around Washington, DC since 1993.

The fact that there is no proof that they exist is proof that there is a conspiracy to cover up the existence of aliens. Of course, everyone knows that....

existing of alien, has been always captivating. because the universe is too big and there are infinity of planets in the universe.
So I thing there should be some aliens.
but the probability of advanced civilization depends on several factors. In 1961 American scientist, frank drake, created an equation which determines how many advanced civilizations there are in our galaxy:
N=N*(fp)(ne)(fl)(fi)(fc)(fL)
that means the number of advanced civilization in our galaxy equals:
number of stars in milky way, times to
fraction of stars that have planets around them, times to
number of planets that are capable of sustaining life, times to:
fraction of planets in Ne(number of planets that are capable...) where life involves, times to:
fraction of Fl(fraction of planets in Ne) where intelligent life involves, times to:
the fraction of Fi(fraction of Fl) that communicate times to:
fraction of planet's life during which the communicating civilization live.
so you can estimate how many advanced civilization are there in our galaxy.
