Well, there are several tips, depends on what u like to do and what helps u better to get rid of stress:
Listen to pleasant music
Read a good book - takes ur mind away from ur probs
Do some simple exercises - gets u more active
Watch tv or just take a short walk to think abt something else or how to deal with the prob that's causing the stress.
Talk to someone about it - maybe they can help you and give u tips
Mainly, take some time alone so that u can look more closely at ur probs without any distraction.

If you are christian...there is a good prayer that is very comforting. ( It is also used for AA members)
The Serenity Prayer
(full text)
GOD, grant me the serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change,
Courage to change the
things I can, and the
wisdom to know the difference.
Living ONE DAY AT A TIME;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardship as the
pathway to peace.
Taking, as He did, this
sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it.
Trusting that He will make
all things right if I
surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy
in this life, and supremely
happy with Him forever in
the next. Amen

Exercise and rest are excellent stress relievers as is setting aside time to do something you like by yourself, i.e. reading, watching a fav movie, etc...
