There is a product at WalMart in the Rit Dye section specially made for removing gum.
You may also want to try freezing your T-shirt. Once the gum is hard you can just break it away.

ice. it will harden the gum and make it easier to peel off in a chunk. I know peanut butter also helps get gum off of things but it will just make things worse on a shirt lol so yeah if I were you id stick to ice and spray-n-wash :)
I dont know for sure but it seems like hot water would help loosen it out of the fibers of the shirt.

Put the shirt in the freezer for 30 minutes so the gum gets hard and pill it off. afterwards if it all does not come off try to use conditioner or oil to remove the rest also try putting tape on it and pulling it off

Take ice and apply it to the gum pressing to get it hard, then take a dull knife and scrape gently do this until you can get most of it off. Now take a dry cleaning solvant and put a little on the spot and with your fingers rub gently until all the gum is gone. Then wash as usual.

If the gum is fresh the frozen method is best...use ice or a fridge to simply break or pull off as it freezes!! You can also use a degreaser spray from your local Walgreens called Greased Lighting this stuff has multi-purpose uses! Good luck!!

You can try putting the garment in the freezer for a while, or place an ice cube on the area. Peanut butter, mayonnaise or vegetable oil can be worked into the area. You can also try a couple of products called Goof-Off or Goo Gone. Good luck.

Start with an ice cube. Freeze it solid. Then you can chip off most of the gum. What's left can be washed out with really, really hot water, or use a grease-cutter (such as Goop, or Simple Green).
