Run a search for PDfill, download it and install it. It makes it so it creates a virtual printer and instead of printing, it saves your documents as a pdf.

It would be easier to convert the document into Word than an Acrobat PDF, even with a Word document sometimes does not format right.
Word can convert the Wordpad document, my advice is find someone who has a computer with MS Word, copy it to a floppy disk, the when you have converted it, make sure to rename it and save it so you have two versions.
Microsoft makes a piece of software called Works Suite 2004-06, it is under $100 and comes with a copy of MS Word, without having to spend $300

Every answer here is right but I think the best answer would be to:
Download the FREE software suite caled OPENOFFICE at http://openoffice.org. It is a serious competitor to MS Office.
Open your file in the open office word processor and select file, export to pdf.
Open office is GREAT and free but will take a while to download if you do not have broadband cable access.
It will be a much better word processor for you to use than wordpad. Also has a spreadsheet, database, and powerpoint-like program that comes with it,
Free is great.....

I think CutePDF will do it. You don't need the bought package just the writer. As for it being a word file, you might be able to save in WordPad as a *.doc. If not, you can always change the extension manually (this usually doesn't work, but I'm pretty sure word will still be able to open it). If you want to check and make sure Word can open it, you can download Office readers from the Microsoft website.

well to do it you need adobe acrobat. NOT acrobat reader, but the full version of acrobat. Then you can make a pdf out of any file. just choose adobe pdf in the print menu and it will print the file to a pdf format.
if you only have one to create and don't want to pay for it try this link.
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/
go to the dropdown menu and look for the create pdf online.

Yes, you can. You need to get the standard version of adobe acrobat 7.0.
You can purchase this at cdw or bestbuy in the software section of the store.

I don't know of a simple, quick conversion utility, but I believe OpenOffice will read and write rtf and pdf files.
