The math answer is $3,525 but I suspect that you have another reason for the question! Why would she work at a commission based job that does not pay on the first 40K of sales?

Being a tax payer, and also being on here and seeing just how much public education fails you kids, I cannot in good conscious aid in your future down fall by providing you with answers to your home work assignments.

Sit down and read your math book. It actually explains how to do this sort of question. I taught myself logic and geometry, I promise you those text books supply you with all the information you need.

add all your amounts together, less the $40000, then figure out what 15% of the remaining amount is. I am not going to tell you the answers, just a way to see the question differently.

First, add the sales(25,000 + 16,000 + 22,500 = 63,500)....

Second, deduct $40K from that. (63,500 - 40,000 = 23,500)....

Then, take the balance and multiply by 0.15. (23,500 x 0.15 = $3525.00)....

Answer: Abby's check would be for $3,525.00.
