YES ECKSTEIN ROCKS....Well, during the cubs game (when the Cardinals won 11-3) Eckstein was waved in to home on a single by Pujols I believe it was. That stupid catcher Barret was blocking the plate, and being the trooper that Eckstein is he put his body on the line to score the run (because at the time it was tied 1-1) So Eckstein slid into Barret. Barret put his knee up at the last minute (prolly on purpose because he is a doughebag) and caught Eckstein in the left side. Of course, Eckstein was safe because he is just awesome like that. After the play he started limping toward the dugout. At first he felt it in his leg and he thought that it was what he hurt, but after he sat down his left oblique started to hurt. Being the courageous kinda person Eckstein is, he went out onto the field the next inning to try to throw, but grimmaced in pain and grabbed his side as he did. Sadly, the Cardinals website has reported that he will be out at least a week at the very best. So, basically, prolly more than a week. Aaron Miles will be filling in at shortstop...so lets just pray that Eckstein gets back REAL soon.

Typical David Eckstein throwing caution to the wind. He is out at least a week according to the official Cardinal web site.

He slid into home a few days ago and got hurt. (don't listen to the other dude eckstein rules!!!!!!!)
