Wow had a thought, but...
See all the graph things as well as the light bulb are a device for changing electrical current into another form of energy sound or light. Maybe they all led to the modern technological era we now enjoy because they all help convey information, but then there's the light bulb. So, not the answer you were looking for I know, but it might be a start. Maybe they were all the items that created certain industries. Telegraph & telephone led to communications industry. Phonograph can be said to have led to yes the music indsutry, but more importantly to the recording or more precisely information storage industry. The typewriter was IBM's first big seller, and they also went into the information storage industry as well as computers. And, the light bulb led to the requirement for the power industry.
Oh well, good luck anyway.

all invented in the US is all I can come up with and I am not totally sure that applies to the typewriter. I don't think Edison invented either the telegraph or the typewriter.

all of the above are inventions that Thomas Alva Edison either invented or helped to modify for the better. they are also major advances that helped create the world as we know it today by greatly increasing the means of communication available to us. They all have also been used for communication and still are to this day though not necessarily by the masses. In short these are all inventions that changed the world.
