I'd put the goo in the middle of a washcloth, get one corner of the washcloth in one hand, drape it over my back until I could reach the opposite corner with my other hand, then rub pull up and down with my hands. I put lotion on this way sometimes when my back gets really itchy.

Take a wooden spoon, or a back scratcher, and attach a little piece of cloth, or sponge to it with a rubber band. Apply the goo, and then reach around back of you and rub the goo on the tatoo.

Tattoo salve? I think you're talking about the antibiotic ointment that they give you so that it doesn't get infected. You can put it on the back of your hand and rub it on that way if you want. If you are unable to touch the middle of your back in anyway, you might be way too fat.

They actually make things to put lotion on your own back. It's like a really long handle with a big round piece at the end to put lotion on and you reach behind you like you would with a back scratcher. Or I'd just put some on a washcloth or hand towel and hold it behind you like you would when you dry your back off with a towel.

This is how I did it. Go find a clear wall. Spread it on the wall, turn around, and rub up and down against the wall!! :) No, I'm not joking. That's how I really did it, and it always applied on evenly.

Just squirt some in the air and try to make it land on your back. Or use a spatula or something like that.

That's a good question...I guess you will just have to stretch around and find a way...or like you said--have someone else do it for you.
Good luck with that--I'm dealing with similar situation although mine is on my shoulder (back)
