i'm juss wondering why it's called iPod ....does it mean anything or just a name?....

I guess APPLE uses the letter I as something to symbolize APPLEproducts such IPOD< IMAC, ITUNES etc. Pod means to play.

my dad was tryin to explain why it was called ipod and he went into all this stuff with some egyptian history where the pod was a abbreviation for pedestrian or something and the letter i meant something in latin or something. idk anything about it but i kinda wondered it too.
