The best exercise to help tone the love handles are side bends or torso twists. If you do a 100 sit-ups a day I can't believe you even have a roll. lol Good Luck!

Stop wearing low rise jeans and wear pants that fit. The roll you talk about is there because your jeans push it up there. Those jeans were not designed to properly fit a natural female figure. They were made to be worn by women who will go to such drastic lengths as to have ribs removed to look thin.
Alternatively, if you really think you need toning, maybe you are only working the top of the area with sit ups and maybe you need to do some leg lifts to work the bottom half. Just lay on your back and lift your straight legs slowly up in the air to a 90 degree angle. Man is that hard to do sometimes. As you can do more of these you can hold your feet at about 45 degree angle, etc.
The Yoga Journal's web site also has a pose finder where you can look up exercises for a particular muscle group. yogajournal.com
Peace!

first of all 100 sit ups are nothing. I know women who can do 1000 sit ups a day. i would work out harder. do some cardio exercises. Maybe you can take one short cycle of anabolic steroids. Steroids only give you a bulk of muscle if you weight lift. Don't do any weight lifting. If you took them and did killer sit ups and cardio exercises then you;'ll lose the fat easily. Or you can take HGH. human growth hormone. HGH is the literally the fountain of youth. Do your homework of human growth hormone. It'll do wonders. And HGH is not a steroid. No side effects that's the great part.

I'd say not to stress over it. Yes, I concur with everyone else, "wear looser pants".
Otherwise I'd just say that it's actually a lot more attractive if someone has just a little bit of it. I start wondering if a person is really thin, if they have problems or something...
I'm sure you look very nice, actually. Sit ups are still healthy for you, so you can keep doing those.

I cannot answer your question. I just want to let you know that those of us who prefer our women a little "thicker" affectionately call that a "muffin-top".
Until you can get your body into the shape you prefer, I suggest wearing clothes that accentuate your positive attributes and minimize the negatives. Very few of us are totally satisfied with our bodies and should not overly stress about things we cannot quickly change, life is too short for that..

It might be your pants that are tight. How do you feel in a skirt? Try to analyse yourself in front of a mirror and it might not be your tummy that is the problem. In any case if you're not sure just join a gym. Ask the instructors there for their advice on the best workout for you.

Sit-ups only work the top part of your abs. You need to work the lower part of your abs too! Try watching the 8-minute Abs DVD which I use all the time. Works great, and easy to fit into your daily schedule since it's only 8 minutes long. You can buy it on Amazon.com.

I THINK its sugar roll. (lol) I notied that I quickly obtained one of my own once I started to eat sugars. For a long time, I had avoided sugar and ate only sweetened foods, sugar free, splenda etc. Now that I freely eat sugar, and even snack on candy regularly (shame!) I have a larger upper hip area (the kind that shows above the waist of the pants) and more on my hips.
So it must be cause-effect. Reduce daily sugar intake, perhaps? Do you drink a lot of sugared beverages (starbucks included) or have as much candy as me? *g*

It is a myth that working out a specific muscle reduces the fat in that area. So, forget the sit-ups.
it will take at least 30 mins of cardio a day for however long it takes to loose the handles; several months at least.

I had the same problem.. I had 2 kids, and got everything back into shape EXCEPT for my damned tummy roll.. you know what worked? The Ab-Lounger, and dancing. I got a teach yourself to Samba video, and after a few weeks.. there was a noticeable difference.
