I am not gay and I do not hate gay people, so your "everyone" is a bit over-inclusive. I think the ones with the gay issues are the ones that aren't so sure about themselves. The movie "American Beauty" comes to mind. But why bring the Bible into it anyway? If you use that book for justification for anything, where in there does it say you get to pick and choose what you think is right and what isn't. We'll all have to go back to stoning adulteresses. Give a whole new meaning to "rock concert." I think our legal system might have a few problems with that, though.

P.S. I think gay people should get a $75,000 per year tax break. After all, they can't reproduce. Why should they have to pay for everyone else's proclivity to "be fruitful and multiply." - Fruitful -- now there's an interesting choice of words. See, you can't trust the translators. Maybe the original passgage said "Be 'fruity' and don't multiply so much." Now that would have at least demonstrated some power of prophecy.

I have nothing against gay people. I have a gay friend. I don't know why certain people don't like gay people. They say it is because the bible says it is wrong. The bible was written 2000 years ago by some people we don't even know. I believe in God but I don't believe that some of the things that the bible says are actually things that God would say. You are supposed to be accepted no matter what so just because the bible says that it doesn't mean that God or Jesus would have said gays are bad. A lot of people back 1000 years ago were Bi but no one ever says anything bad about them. I agree that homosexuality is not a choice. You are born with those feelings just like everyone else is born liking people of the different sex. I am glad that you came on here and decided to tell everyone off that is rude. Good Job. Keep doing it. All it takes is for you to change one person's mind. Then they try to change people's minds. They cycle continues until eventually hopefully everyone is accepted for who they are. Great Job.

The book of Ruth is not about lesbians...Maybe you should check where you are getting your facts from. Secondly, if you take the rest of the Bible into consideration you will see in both the Old and the New Testament that it says that "men who lie with men...will receive the second death". Check out the King James Bible. Lastly, not everyone hates homosexuals. I am a Baptist and I don't hate you. I don't agree with your lifestyle, but how you live your life is your choice and not mine to make for you. True Christians should not judge you; they will respect what the Bible says about God being the only true judge. It is God's place to make the final decisions about every human being, and since every human is a sinner, none of us should be judging anyone but our own selves. I love you as a human being; I would never shun you if I ever met you.

Well ok. I will try to answer this question the best I can. The way I feel why the reason is. People hate gay people because they are different. I myself am a straight guy and totally tolerable of gay guys. There is nothing wrong with them, they just have different choices. I have friends that are gay and I am totally fine with it. Like I said....some straight guys are just dumb and thinks that if a guy is gay then they are automatically thinking about seeing them naked or wanting them. They are instantly rude and ignorant to gays. And since you were quoting the bible, what about what Jesus said, "Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone." Who are they to judge. They are different from their best pal that they have known all their life. Both are similar in ways, but different in others just like gays and straights. But this is one straight guy that won't give you any grief.

not everyone hates gays, and the social stigma is an attempt by society to maintain a homogenous easily controlled group. a leopard cannot change it's spots because the other leopards won't let it. we still live in a puritanical, victorian society that is slow to change. homosexuality is sometimes a choice for emotional or physical reasons, but usually involves an hormonal imbalance and no choice which generates fear in the uneducated. and also, too much of what is percieved as homosexual intent is controlled by the media with it's own agenda.but not all of us hate gays

Let's get one thing clear. Not everybody hates gay people.
Having said that you can understand why some people feel threatened by them.
In the minds of some people the homosexual sex act rates the same contempt as bestiality. Also people are affronted by gay
mannerisms. It is heaven's order for a man to be masculine,
outgoing, and for a female to be reserved, femenine.
I as the mother of a teenaged son am constantly terrified he
will be somehow persuaded it is cool to be sexually ambiguous.
I trust I have not offended you, but we humans are sometimes cowards and find hard to talk straight.

It's not that people HATE gay people, it's the spread of AIDS & the number of people dying from it. Homosexuality is a choice. What about the guy that is married for 15 years, has two kids then springs it on everyone that he is gay & has a lover. Oh pleezzzzzz! Then there is the equality factor: Let's say my boss has a girlfriend living with him; because she is not a he and they are not a "gay" couple, he can't put her on his health insurance. But if he had a gay buddy, he would be allowed this benefit! That's a bunch of BULLSHI^ in anyone's book! Special treatment? I think it's discrimination to every heterosexual on this planet! Then there is the poor kid that get played with & picked on so badly as a youngster, traumatized, so to speak, & can't seem to grow up so to play it safe they say they are "gay", lacking & avoiding all the responsibility that comes with male/female relationships. Then we have the guys on the Down-LOW, this is what it is called, where they sneak around behind the wife's back for years, only to get caught fornicating with another male, in secret. So who is the victim of this abhoration? The wife, the kids. Keep it in the closet guy. People don't HATE gays, I believe they are not valued as a beneficial contribution to society, they are more of a costly danger.

Some people hate gays because they themselves, acutally are gay (or a little bi) and won't except it so many will make people think they're striaght by calling everyone else gay. Some hate gays because they feel it's against their religion. Some do it because of bad experiences with gays. Some do it because their afraid of how other heterosexuals will treat them if they don't conform to hating gays. And the rest do it to jump on the hate banwagon. Some are a mixture of these. I'm straight, and I've seen all these types, and it can be fustrating.

I don't like any form of discrimination, and people, especially those who have also been discriminated against in some way, should be more understanding about anyone who gets discriminated against.

First off, NOT everyone hates gays. 2nd some people are mentally challenged or mentally handicap NOT retards. there are some people who do not understand those who live a different lifestyle to which they are accustomed to. You can not please all the people all the time so quit trying to. AS long as you are happy with who you are, are sincere, have good values and treat others the way you WANT to be treated is all that matters.

I don't hate "Gay" people. What I don't like is when my grand kids ask me what two guys or two girls kissing or fondling in public are doing and I have to figure out what to say to them, then I have a problem with it. I think that it should be put back in the closet or at least behind closed doors. And you state that homosexuality is not a choice. Well I beg to differ with you on the grounds that there are so many boys and girls that want to try it, and eventually decide that it is not for them. I personally know three that had been there and back. And there are those that try it and decide that it is what they are looking for too!! I would not say you are a retard. And we can both find things in the bible that can be interpreted both ways. So if you want to be gay, keep it away from my kids. Thanks
