All opiates can effect the way you think and sleep. Also note that other things can affect this like smoking, tobacco or other things, drinking alchohol, caffeine or any type of stimulant including cold and cough medicine.
It also helps very much if you do not take it on an empty stomach.
Even the stop smoking patch can give you bad dreams. I hate terrible nightmares when I tried it.

Yes. All narcotics can cause intense or scary dreams in some people. Codeine, Percocet and Vicodin do it to me, but only at high doses.

Yes. It is called an adverse reaction, not allergic. Some people are more sensitive to medications than others. Let you doctor know so it can be added to your medical chart as an adverse reaction.
