Obviously not as many as in Detroit, but there's a lot nonetheless. So, does anyone know of any particular old buildings in Dallas, and where it is, and, if possible, know any sites where pictures of those structures can be found.

Dallas has opposing factions with regard to historical preservation, and while there are a number of old buildings left, many, such as the Dr Pepper plant, have been razed for redevelopment. My favorites that are still standing are the Art Deco buildings at Fair Park. Downtown has the Old Red Courthouse, Adolphus Hotel, Majestic Theatre, Belo Mansion, Wilson Building, Magnolia Hotel, the West End, and other examples. Swiss Avenue and Munger Place in East Dallas are neighborhoods of older homes that have been restored. The first two links below might give you more information. The third link is of photos I took at Fair Park in March.

Try a virtual tour of downtown Dallas from the city's Historical Society. The Web page also has links to other sites, and you can search for particular terms, such as "Pegasus".

if you see pictures of Down Town Dallas, the pictures of the building with a red pegasus on top. That used to be the tallest building in the state! Now you can only see it from the right angles.
