Stupid! Everyone wrote "Daniel is the best..." and laughed at the idea of "Caesar." Caesar's a very popular name, especially in the Latin community (usually spelled "Cesar"). Personally, I have 4 friends named "Caesar" (or any combination or form of it...).
Daniel is a name that's WAY too common. I'd go with Caesar. If it's a boy you're trying to name, at least teachers won't have to kill themselves to say, "Daniel A... Donny... Daniel B... Daniel F... Daniel G... Daniel T... etc..." when doing roll call. Go with Caesar. At least it's a little more individualistic... :-/
Plus, "Caesar" isn't only a "type of salad," you morons! Julius Caesar advanced the Roman civilization far faster than any other emperor. Technology greatly improved during his rule. In theory, he was responsible for future civilizations. Who do all highly intellectual people remember and talk about when discussing Roman civilization? Caesar, of course! To say that "Caesar is someone nobody even wants to talk about in history class" just tells us all how incompetent and ignorant you must be to not look at one of the fathers of modern life. If he didn't exist, we'd probably still be way behind in technology. During his empire, the concept of hydraulics was perfected, as well as sewer systems. Plus, he was responsible for a benevolent rule. He cared about the people and not about the politcal agendas of some of the evil people out there... which is why he was assassinated by the Senators of his time. Learn your history before you badmouth someone as historically important as him, idiots.
Caesar isn't a dorky name at all. You want a dorky name? Go with Elmer. Or Hubert. Leopold is also pretty dorky. Hell, even Napoleon can be incredibly dorky (even though it's taken from Napoleon Bonaparte, another HUGELY important historical figure...).
All in all, I think Caesar is a cool and largely individualistic name. None of my friends ever make fun of their names, so they have no problem with it. Nobody looks at them weirdly, either.

I wouldn't choose either name unless it has a meaning for me. My second son is the fifth member of our family so we chose Quentin. Which means "the fifth." (In Greek I think). If I have a girl her name will be Trinity because she will be my third child. I have chosen middle names for both of my boys that have familial importance. I also choose names that flow well with the last name. You wouldn't want to have a name that sounds awkward to say and is totally unmemorable. I read an article that said that people who had slightly common, but not necessarily the most popular name, had a greater chance of getting called back for an interview. Good Luck!
