depends on how you plan to connect.
if you are going to use dialup / modem (ancient connection):
most of the time you'll get a cd or software from the isp and can connect that way.
if you are going to use cable/dsl you should have been given a modem from the isp you chose. most of the time you can just plug the highspeed modem into your pc via usb or rj45 (ethernet) port and it will assign you a dhcp address automatically and you'll be connected.
(just make sure whether you're running os9, x or anything else that your network settings are set to dhcp - obtain address automatically)
if you're trying to setup a home network with one high speed connection, you can plug the highspeed modem into a router and obtain an ip address (most likely dynamic) from your isp and then run your own private network and have your router issue private ip addresses for each pc on your network. most new routers you buy are pretty easy to hook up this way and have good instructions.

You cord it in or come across a properly matched USB wifi dongle. you could not improve the OS any more effective than 10.4.11. even with in case you do get it on line, it really is going to choke on Youtube and something with Flash on it. those are fairly darned lengthy contained in the enamel.

Is it OS 9? I believe some versions of OS 9 had some Open Transport problem. You'd need to get OS 9.2.2 if so.
