I'm sorry, I'm just not knowledgeable on that kind of thing. I don't know what the numbers mean.

2.1 is a very good degree grade
2.2 is basically worthless grade bit like a D or E

2:1 is a ratio which can also be written as 2/1 which overall equals 200%

200% = 2/1

2:1 is two circles (720 degrees over 360 degrees)
2:2 is one circle (720 degrees over 720 degrees)

I will take a blind guess here. 2:1 would be a double major...2:2 would be 2 seperate bachelor degrees. Like I said, just a guess, but I would have to assume it does something with the majors and minors.

Or 2:1 two parts of water to every part of bleach. Be it gallons or cups or what ever.
