i have read summerys of the episodes of season 5 and one part says vaughn is shot to death then a few episodes later it says vaughn meets his daughter for the first time so does he die or just fakes it?

thanks to the people who answered i live in australia and have been waiting for months for season 5 to air still no luck, i cant believe jack does that to his own daughter surely they could of told her that vaughn was alive

They say that he dies (although us viewers believe it at that time). In fact he has gone into hiding in a far away place (don't remember exactly where) and lives as a hermit. They do that as a terror organization is looking for him. If they think he is dead they are not gonna be looking for him...

He is shot, "dies", funeral, the whole bit...
But then with like three shows to go in the series he returns. His death as a trick to protect him, done of course by Jack.
And in the end he and Syndey get to retire and live happlily ever after.
