Unfortunately, all the answerer's have taken this as a platform to pass on hatred.
It is human nature to look down upon anybody or anything that is different from us or our own.
A neutral opinion, the US or more specifically Bush did lie to the world and his nation and used WMD as a reason for invading a sovereign nation. He needed any pretext. And it is not only for oil. the US economy thrives on war, the corporations make billions for every small skirmish.
Saddam did need to be controlled for his excesses, but I wish it was done in a better manner that the one adopted by Bush.
I am not a Muslim, Christian, Jew, Arab and not from the US.

This war has cost us outlandish amounts of money. Maybe, sometime far far off in the future, Iraq will have finally sold us enough money, to make it financially feasible. Hopefully, they will one day be free, and acknowledge that we did something other than kill Iraqis.
Most of us thought there was at least a threat of WMD, of course there was only a trace. Wether some were shipped or not...and so forth. Bush would cite faulty intelligence. If Bush lied to us or someone to him, they will have to take that up with God when they meet Him.

What is this us you speak of. I could care less if the Muslims of the middle east want to live in the 12th century or not. But get the facts straight, the biggest killer of Muslims are other Muslims. When was the last time an American blew them self up in a crowded mosque.
By the way, America gets the majority of it's oil from Canada, Mexico and Venezuela, not the middle east. America also GIVES (not loans) billions (with a B) of aid dollars to Muslim counties.
The American people just have this small problem with Muslim extremist flying plans into our buildings and professing to want us ALL dead. I don't know, maybe it's just me.

If we steal oil wouldn't gas prices be lower? Maybe we needed bases closer to where the TERRORISTS live after Sad Dam, who was harboring them, was deposed.
