Okay seriously? Don't you realize that we were attacked on 9/11 by bloodthirsty terrorists who want to kill us, and that they are positioned in the Middle East?
It is clearly IMPOSSIBLE to have peace here in the United States when there's a bunch of terrorists (namely Al Qaeda) who want to kill us. For example, sending our troops home would be a foolish idea because that wouldn't eliminate the threat of terrorists and would make the United States SO much more vulnerable to terrorists. Notice that we haven't had a SINGLE terrorist attack since 9/11 because of our involvment in the Middle East. We've taken down the regime of Saddam Hussein which supported Al Qaeda with $$$, etc. We've also taken out Zarqawi and have also restored greater order to Iraq. Of course there are still lots of problems in Iraq concerning terrorism but those aren't going to be solved by "ending the war." If we send our troops home and keep our attention away from the Middle East, we will have NO PEACE and another 9/11 (or worse) is INEVITABLE.

Peace is an IDEA not a REALITY. The only way to stabalize things is through policy. Pacifism is a sickness that when deployed will only result in more death and destruction. To answer your question you should visit the pages of a history book...or...maybe the files in your head that store your common sense...they might be kind of dusty.
