Y! A was set up to be a place where people can get answers to their questions. And the users have pretty much ruined the site. Most of the questions are really opinions, not questions. Many questions are really vacuous. Yahoo runs the website, and do have controls over what you can say. Any obviously offensive words are filtered. And questions do get deleted if they are offensive. Under each answer, you'll see some icons that let you rate thumbs up or down. Next to them, you'll see a flag. Click on that flag and you can send an abuse report. If Y! agrees with the complaint, they will delete.

No, no Freedom of Speech in the private sector. The Yahoo Answers team runs it. I suspect you could get in touch with someone if you needed to. I've seen staff respond to questions out of thin-air, so I know they monitor content somehow.
If someone reports your content as a violation of the community guidelines, and a reviewer agrees that a violation has ocurred, your content is bounced. If enough content gets bounced, the account gets bounced. I don't know anyone personally that has been bounced, but I know it happens.
I have no idea where they work. These days, they could probably work from home.

This one time I listed every racial slur I knew in a question I posted and they took it down. But I wasn't kicked off the site and was not penalized. Sometimes I can say **** and it gets through and other times it says ****.
I'd say answers upholds the freedom of speech better than our government so it would be wrong of us to be pissed off about it.
What the **** is an ivory tower!?
Other than the wet dream of a hippy hater.

Lakers fan, 1983 Magic Johnson? greater like CHOKE Johnson! He gave away the finals against the Celtics all by ability of himself! He supplies up steals each and all of the time while the pressures on, and he could no longer hit a mandatory loose throw if his existence depended on it! The Lakers would desire to do away with this clown now, he will never volume to something.

Yes...but, that freedom does not allow anyone to attack anyone else, verbally and in public. We have freedom of the press in this nation, but, there are guidelines that see to it the privacy of someone is not impaired by investigative journalism.
We cannot and should not allow any personal/verbal assault upon any one else. That's where other peoples rights end.

E-mail them and let them look at the things you've been typing. If you call negative statements and being rude and obnoxious I doubt that you would be welcomed at any establishment, bar, or public forum.

You have to be awfully offensive to a lot of people for that to happen. Free speech is given with the implied rule of self-censure!
