I'm not thinking of trying it. I heard a story about my Uncle's eye popping out of its socket onc, and i always wondered about it. Thanks for the responses.

I think using the word "pop out" is misleading because the optic nerve only allows so much slack that it would be able to get pulled out without any nerve damage. Beyond this slack, you would get nurve damage and therefore permanent vision loss. There are conditions where some people can increase the pressure around their eye socket and bulge the eyes out. Some people know that they can do it but they aren't aware that they can accelerate glaucomatous changes within their eye with this increase in pressure they are secondarily inducing on their eye. Those that dont know they can do get a shock when they see the eye doctor because it may occur when work is being done and the eye lids will go behind the eye. This is more common than you may think. that's alot of info but you learn something new everyday

There are some folks that can kind of make their eyes really bulge and of course they see. If you were to actually "pop" the eye out as long as everything was still intact you could still see. Aside from those thoughts there are certain eye surgeries where they do lift the eye from the socket for the procedure and well gee, those folks still see. So aside from that are you thinking on trying this or what?

yes you could see bc the optic nerve would be intact. however you couldnt focus because this is done(partially) by muscles compressing the ball to change the curvature(focal length) of the lens in the eye. which is why you see ppl who wear glasses trying to see better by squining.
