Are the pearly gates like the train station platform at Auschwitz, St. Peter is telling some to go this way and others to go the other way?

Have you'all heard of Pascal's Wager, he thought believing in God and leading a good life was the better choice over not believing.

When he died, he'd go to heaven, if he there was no god and he died, then 'no harm no foul' it didn't make a difference anyway. Therefore, the best wager was to believe. What do you think of this wager?

Its a trick question. We'll never know because no one has come back to tell is what the cut off point is for sin allowances.
I think the death bed repentence only works if you really want to believe it worked, and what exactly would you be repenting for...

No, no and again no.

Of course you ask forgiveness on your deathbed...but who's to say that if you weren't on your deathbed you still wouldn't be out there committing serious crimes? Everyone wants to say they regret what they've done when they are caught....same situation here. If you did the crime--do the time. Don't wait your whole life to straighten yourself out.

It most definately will...mainly because there is nothing to "forgive"...you may have charted these atrocities for yourself in order for your spirit to grow in ways you, nor anyone else here can fathom...you also have effected others in your path for the same reason.

You will have the chance to see how much was accomplished, or not, after getting Home...

However...if your choice to commit these crimes was out of total lack of respect of God & humanity, without any conscience for such, well, then...you do not get such a chance to rechart, or reunite with your loved ones, or any time of peace...it's back in the bod you go to try again...and again...until your dark side turns and you finally "get with the program"....which everyone eventually does.

i think everyone deserves to be forgiven. most people don't realize they were wrong until its to late. does that make it right, probably not. we are all human and we make mistakes. its just our nature. learning to accept the mistakes you made and wanting forgiveness is hard to do. I think if a person is truley sorry and they mean it in there heart they should be forgiven.Forgiveness is in the eyes of the one forgiving. No matter if you deserve to be forgiven or not,if the person that you ask for forgiveness does not forgive you then that is something you can not change.

Being someone who believes in God, i would say its up to him, however, if you speaking from the persepctive of persons whom the crimes were commited to,, its a tough call, simply because everyone is different, plus throw into account the nature of the crime, so really, i think it comes down to Judge not lest you be judged yourself, or if you believe in Karma, but thats a whole other paragraph of Blah Blah and takes away from the purpose of your question

if you are truly sorry for the things you have done then yes everyone deserves forgiveness but if you are just saying sorry because you know you are dying then I believe you will not receive forgiveness. why wait until you are on your death bed to ask for forgiveness? get your life in order before it is too late.

Only If you happen to be truly sorry, and truly regret everything you have ever done. Then i am sure whatever higher power you beleive in will forgive you.

I beleive that would be the best reply without getting preachy.

Depends on your beliefs. If you so believe...then God forgives you no matter what you did as long as you are asking from the heart.

Most of society will never forgive you though.

No! You have nothing to apologize for. If on the other hand you lived your life in constant fear never actually living, never talking to the attractive stranger, never running blindly into an opportunity, never speaking up for yourself, that you should apologize for, there is nothing worse than the end of a life never lived.
