I know so many men who are GENUINELY happy in their marriages, love their wives, and say that their sex lives are great, but still watch porn.

I understand single guys that watch it, but married men can get "the real deal". Yet so many still watch it on a regualr basis. Why do men need that if they are truly happy with their wives?

Men are still "Boys" and facinated with porn.

Everyone has fantasies they will never fufuill because they are "dirty lil fantasies"

Men watch porn to SEE those fantasies. It is a way for them to be closer to it.

I like to watch porn for the same reason.

Simple. I'm a married man. I love my wife. Wives are souffles. Porn is scrambled eggs. Love, intimacy, mood, stress, everything outside the marriage bed joins you in the marriage bed. Porn has 2 dimensions: sex and beauty. No chat. No intricacy. No issues. A survey of women by the NIH (National Institutes of Health) indicates 70% of women would rather have chocolate than sex. What does this tell you? As for knowing "Genuinely" happy men, well...for that to be true, both people in the marriage would have to agree that every week, on a given day, for x amount of time, every aspect of their lives would be locked outside the bedroom door. They would just be two people of equal libido, enjoying all that the other person has to offer for pleasure sexually, physically, etc., with nothing from the rest of their lives having any bearing. Sex would be seperate from their marriage. In essence, an affair with each other. Those would be "genuinely" happy married men. But that doesn't happen. You don't have sex with your wife. You have sex with her job, her stress, your finances, and on and on. That's why men look at porn. Porn is sex without consequence or commitment. Chef's make souffle's. Anybody can make scrambled eggs.

Men are visual creatures. Usually, they are more interested in the act being performed than the woman performing the act. When you're married, however happily, you're eyes don't stop wandering. If you say you don't, you're a liar. Porn is a safe way to help satisfy a craving if what you want isn't available immediately. That aside, as other answers have said, porn is entertainment. Society has turned it into such a taboo. While I'm not interested in all the fetishes, if two or more consenting adults are making the porn, and an adult watches the porn, what's the problem?

I can only answer for myself. I am happy in my marriage, love my wife, BUT my sex life could be better. Don't get me wrong I love being with my wife, but I would like to be intimate on a daily basis and she can't. If we are together more than every other day she becomes sore, she tells me she would like to be intimate as much as I do but because of the above reason can't. I don't watch porn very often, and even when I do watch it I am thinking of my wife. Not to mention I believe that watching porn is better than looking for an affair. Not that I'm looking to have an affair, been there done that, learned my lesson. My 2 cents.

Well, let me tell you why. Men would love to have more than one place to park their bikes, but wont because of their love for their wives. So by watching porn the man can satisfy his urges and at the same time be faithful to his true love. Lets face it, even the most happily married men would stray to different people if it were ok with their spouses. And i would guess women would too. After all sex is good.

Because of the fantasy aspect.

A happy marriage is based on many things, companionship, raising a family, finances, dreams, sex, security, etc. Sex is just part of it.

Perhaps the woman is not too experimental and the man fantasizes about things that he would never do outside the marriage. Porn is a way to explore those desires without cheating.

I'm a woman who's in a happy relationship, and I look at porn sometimes. It has nothing to do with whether or not I'm getting the "real deal", these are two different things. One does NOT exclude the other. Porn is for entertainment. Just because you're happily married doesn't mean you stop getting entertainment.

I think there is something to be said for voyeurism. If you are curious about other people doing it, isn't it better to watch it on film rather than in real life? Also, no matter what any man will tell you, they (we) still like to look. I enjoy seeing a naked or scantily dressed woman from time to time--always in pictures or movies of course. I'm not much into porn, per say, but I won't criticize someone who is and keeps it under wraps.

I agree with zigg.... it has nothing to do with being happily married. Guys do it for the same reason women read romance novels: it's fun and its entertaining and it turns them on and it's a change of pace and sometimes it's for when their wives aren't in the mood. And let's face, for the most part, women aren't in the mood as much as men. Cause you can still be happy with your marriage in general but want more sex.

Watching porn can be like watching sports for men. I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Besides, the co-relation between having a great sex life and watching porn could go hand in hand.

Becasue they're men - simple!

What about the happily married women who watch porn?

What about the happily married couples who watch porn together?

Porn is more about human nature than anything else - it's not a bad thing
