I'm not sure, but you could be right. I know that Morris Brown is an HBCU (Historically Black College or University) that was shut down a few years ago. They were known for their marching band and do have a marching band beat on the song. I'm not sure.

Knowing them it is probably some metaphor about the college and a theme in the movie.

LOL....Morris Brown College is a school in Atlanta Georgia.. The song was named after them because the band played the song..... Can't you tell that a band is playing that when u listen to it........But yea the song Morris Browm is name after Morris Brown College in Atlanta Ga......... MBCollege also appeared on the movie Drumline
