First of all I never said I didn't love him. If I was not worried about his health I wouldn't be trying to encourage him. I do love him, I try to motivate him as much as I could, but he just doesn't seem to budge!!! I have asked him if he is depressed. I have tried to get him to see a doc.
If I didn't love him, I would have left a long time ago. Being married doesn't mean you let your self go. You have to keep up w/ each other for the sake of health. I dn't ask 4 him to look like Fabio, but just healthy and active for his own good.
And his manners are terrible. As mean as this sounds, if a man had a wife who let herself go, he would be trying to get her some help too! On the other hand, I'm sad that he doesn't care that it affects him and our relationship in many ways. I am still young and I don't want him to be a couch ptatoe. I cook good meals, but he over eats junk food, and drnks a lot of beer. If you were a man and had a wife like this wouldn't you feel the same way?GeeZ

I just went back and looked at your original question and her response...I agree with you, what she said was way!!! way off the chart.

My fiance has gained a lot of weight since we've been together in the last 3 years and I feel like you at times. I've tried getting him up and out of his chair, said something about the beer (and Mt. Dew he drinks by the 2 liter) and all the junk food he sits and eats nightly. He goes days without shaving and his hair cut has been really bad at times. I cook good wholesome meals. Sometimes when company shows up at the door, unannounced, I find myself cringing at how he looks, too.

I love my fiance, I want what is best for him, but I don't fight and argue with him about his appearance. I just let my fingers trail over the rounder belly and tell him what it means to me to have him alive and please stop trying to kill himself with food. He kisses me and promises to slack off, maybe even go on a diet tomorrow...I'm still waiting on tomorrow.

I know where your coming from and I probably sound to Kitty just as she thought of you but if in my shoes she would understand....

I assume this was from a previous question, which I didn't see. Have you tried getting him to take a dance class with you? That would be something active and fun that you could do together. Ooo! Or maybe a karate class! Those are so fun and it is something you both could feel good about doing. Best of luck, hun!
