Hi, I was at cdnow.com listening to music samples and every time I tried to click on the Windows Media icon to listen to the sample through that instead of Real Player or the cdnow media player, the music sample kept playing in Real Player. I'm guessing that I need to make Windows Media Player my default player but I don't know how to do that. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Open Windows Media Player. Go to Tools > Options > File Types tab. Hit Select All. Ok. Close WMP and try to play the song from cdnow.com

This is easy but requires a few steps. You have to do this for each type of file you want Windows Media Player to handle.
Go to a file type 1 (.mp3) as example - or (.wma) etc.
left clk on the file and choose: Open with. Brouse to find Win. Media Player and select it. Then (IMPORANT) check the box that says: "Always Open This File Type With This Application" Now anytime you want to play this file type it will open with Win. Media Player. You have to do the above with each file type you want Win. Media Player to handle. You can do the vid files also: .mpg / .avi etc.
