Sadly depending on your location you are likely to be making in the mid 20's. MSW's make higher salaries so think about pursuing that MSW if possible.

It depends on what type of social work you are going into, child, family, school, government. The salary range varies greatly. About 10 percent start out making less than $21, 270, while only 10 percent make more than $54, 250. The median salary for a child or family social worker is $33,000, for substance and mental health social workers, it's $32,250. The highest average salary is for medical and public health social workers and that is $37,000. I am hoping to become a social worker someday, and it's definitely not a field where one will become rich. Even a Master's degree doesn't guarantee a high salary, but I don't think that's why most people go into the Human Services in the first place. Good luck!

The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career.
