A faux-pas? Not at all...it's actually the correct type of shirt to wear with a blazer. And you don't necessarily have to wear a tie either...unless maybe it's for a job interview at a place that has a business attire dress code.

Button down shirts were made to go with blazers and jackets. It is a tailored look and very much in style now! Loodks good with a pleated skirt as well as jeans or dress pants.

Button-down too formal for blazer. If you are searching for the classic "brylcreem boy" blazer look you need a soft-collared shirt with a silk cravat. You'll pull all the grannies in the neighbourhood.

you shouldn't. and depending on what you're doing a "rock" t-shirt and a blazer are supposed to be in fashion. Example: look at Ryan Seacrest, that's all he ever wears.

Sounds like your good to go! As long as it's not like purple and orange? If it is comfortable and clean and neat looking sounds like a good idea. Take a look in the mirror...do you look good...feel comfortable? Go for it!!

Set your own style. I don't see anything wrong with a sharp button down & blazer.
