For a long time we've all heard the Jewish community sticking out faces the turmoils and the loss of Jews during the Holocaust. Always telling us never forget and history will not repeat itself. The other night I was flipping through the channels and came across a religous channel where the were asking for donation to feed the homeless and hungry Holocaust survivors.

How can let these people end up that way? Are they already forgetting what happened and tossing aside the rements of that war?

I checked out your link. These people are all old and could use some help. I don't think asking people to help Holocaust survivors has anything to do with forgetting about the mass murders during WWII. The survivors cam to Israel often with nothing since it was all taken from them. They were broke and homeless. If you think these people are undeserving of help I suggest you read a few of their stories. Ellie Wiesel wrote a very telling book called Night. Other shorter stories can be found at http://history1900s.about.com/cs/survivors/.

If we were forgetting what happened and tossing aside the remnants of war as you put it, there would be no programs and websites and funds set up to help these people.

Boomer, you must be mistaken the homeless and hungry holocaust survivors are probably now in their seventies or better and I am sure they are being taken care of by their families or a Jewish community service. Your statement is moot, unintelligible and foolish, before you ask a question on Yahoo or make statement get your facts straight, use proper English and either make a statement or ask a question.

There are no more DPs. That's been over since the middle, late 40s. What kind of religious channel would do that?

What does one thing have to do with the other? Is it wrong to remind people that those in Israel are not as rich as many think and that they need help like everybody else?

I haven't seen that commercial, but I agree that we need to help. Those people have gone through enough already.

Perhaps we didn't let anything happen to them. Maybe they were living in a free country and they failed to make appropriate arrangements of their own.
