nothing except registering the pain and letting you know it's there. the brain itself is insensitive to pain, when you have a headache it's because other parts of your head are not working the way they should

I think that it's either that your blood vessels are contracting (getting smalll) so not enough blood sa getting through.

Also though, headaches come from other things, maybe it is all brain related in one way or another, but you could get tension headaches, where your muscles around your neck & upper back tense all up into knots an that causes your head to throb.

I know that when I was younger, I would sometimes get headaches from going a long time without eating enough protein. Don't really know why that would cause a head ache, but if that was the case, a quick spoonful of peanut butter, or a slice of cjheese would usually take care of it.

Help any?

A headache can be a from a few sources:

Your muscles in your head are aching causing pain

The blood vessels in your brain are contracted or inflamed causing a lack of oxygen to a part of your brain.

The anti-inflammatory drugs, like ibuprofen aid in relieving these symptoms.

a headache is your brains' way of telling you something is not right.. either the sugar level too low/high, the blood pressure, the chemical imbalance, etc.. it's just trying to cope with abnormality and sending signals to you to say so..
