Im 6 foot and ive read articles that i should get a 160 board. My friend says i should get a 145 so i could tricks but im not even that good.

Really depends upon your comfort level. I think a 145 would be way too small for someone of your stature, with that much weight on a 145, it will not ride or carve well. Here is a good matrix that will show you what size board you SHOULD be on. http://www.alpineskicenter.com/snowboardsizes.htm

Yeah 160 is the right size board for you if you want an all montain type board. But if you want to do tricks you should go a bit smaller. At the lowest a 153 but no lower than that, 145 is way too short for you and you would find it a nightmare to ride.

Yeah, the size that is going to match up with your height is a 160, but I'd get a 158 so it's just a little smaller, and easier to ride. Don't get a 145 unless all your going to be doing is spins, and flips.
