How to clean those mini blinds

To vacuum the mini blinds: Using a brush dust head attachment - tilt the slats up and then down to reach the both the top and bottom surfaces of the slates of the mini blind.

To dust the mini blinds: Using a soft clean cloth or chemically treated dust cloth tilt the slats up and then down to reach the both the top and bottom surfaces of the slates of the mini blind.

To wash the mini blinds: Using a damp cloth or sponge and mild detergent. Use warm or cold water tilt the slats up and then down to reach the both the top and bottom surfaces of the slates of the mini blind. Be sure to protect the floor and the sill from excess water by placing a towel on the sill and or floor. Or if you want to take the blinds down - place them in a tub of mild soapy water, then rinsed clean, wiped dry, or allowed to dry completely in the open air.

How to clean wood mini blinds

You must take a lot of care when cleaning real wood blinds. We do not recommend washing the mini blinds. Eventhough the wood is sealed, water or even excessive dampness may cause warpage or discoloration of the wooden slats. Since the wood surface of the slats is smooth, dust may be easily brushed off using a clean soft dust cloth or a vacuum cleaner brush attachment tilt the slats up and then down to reach the both the top and bottom surfaces of the slates of the mini blind.

I have tried many things to clean them. Putting them in a bathtub, hanging them out back on the fence, laying them on the deck. Nothing seems to clean them well enough. Depending on how many you have, and if they're inexpensive, just go buy new ones. Make sure your landlord isn't still going to charge you...

The most thorough way to wash them is in the bathroom shower!

Get a nice tepid water soapy sudsy bucket going on, take the blind and sit it in on one end, and woosh the suds all over the slats with a long bristled (soft) brush....then rinse under the shower head in warm water-- let dry standing on an old towel or such--and rehang!
Like new!!!

I do it once a year and I have 12 windows with blinds.
Good luck!

Either with a hose or in the bathtub, that's the only way I found. I actually prefer letting them soak in the tub then throwing them over a clothesline in the yard to dry. (providing you have one !)

I hang mine in the shower and spray them with the shower hose. I installed one of those shower hoses to the shower head. You can pick one of those up very inexpensively. You can also lay them in the lawn and spray them with a garden hose. Have you tried a feather duster and an air spray can? (the kind you get at an office supply store to use to spray the dust off your keyboard)

no bathtub? Take them down, they slide out easily, and shower with them........wipe each blade and hang in shower stall til dry then rehang. Is it really in your apt contract that you must actually clean the miniblinds? I'd check that out cuz i've never heard of it before.

You need a tub that will fit them. They dip really easily into soapy water to clean. You can try a hose and soapy water, but be careful not to waterlog them or get water in the "works."

In summer...... put them on clothes line and take water hose to them (use a wash cloth or little scrubber with suds).

In winter...... put em in the bath tub, let them soak a few mins then take soap and a wash cloth to them.

Your land lord is trying to rip u off, i dont blame ya, i would do it myself too!

If they are horribly dirty, take them down and soak in the bathtub with a good detergent and clorox.
