You have to take your word sentence and turn it into a math sentence.
times (x)
a number (n)
is (=)
more than (+)

- 4 times a number is 6 more the the number
-4 X n = +6 n
Now, to rewrite so that it makes sense:
-4n = n + 6

or if it's supposed to be positive 4.
4n = n + 6

Write out any sentence like this into the other form by following what it says.
Like this:
4 times n(unknown #) =(is) n(the unknown #) + 6(six more)

like this then:
4 x n = n + 6

the answer is...hmm
I dont think the answer can be 2, because 2 times -4 equals -8, which would not be 6 larger than 2. It would be 10 smaller.
