looking up verb for of this word

trying to do break out of the parts of the word. Geology would be noun, geological would be adverb...need to know what the VERB would be

it doesn't have one - not all words do. how would you geology someone? "no! i've been geologised!". no.

There is no real verb form of geology. You can't say "I shall geologize" or "I will geology this rock." The closest you can get is "to study geology" or "to know geology," for example, where geology is the object. This is true for most nouns.
