Yea man... I am from New Orleans and I feel bad for Houston and all of the other cities that had to take in some of these f*ckers.

Where do you get your information? Houston and Houstonians, the surrounding towns and communities gave to the people of New Orleans like no one else did. Houston is still footing the bill for a good many of these people. FEMA money has run out for a lot of them. There is a lot of paperwork involved to get FEMA assistance and you have to show cause. What has Houston got in return? A higher crime rate that can be related to New Orlean's gangs, stretched social services, and a bill that the federal government is slow to reimburse the city on. Your question is an insult to the people of Houston and you should apologize.

Obviously you are not from Houston. If you were Houston, and watching the local news here, you would see how ridiculous your question is. The people who are taking advantage of FEMA are by far and large New Orleans residents!

It's really a trip that even though Houston has done so much for the people of New Orleans and even though we took in thousands and thousands of people in with open arms we still get dogged out!

Houston isn't my favorite place in the world, but Houstonians are DEFINITELY my favorite people in the world. They are generous, caring, kind and friendly!

Houstonians...y'all rock!

If they need the help so much, why were so many of the Katrina evacuees found in strip bars and tatoo parlors spending their FEMA money thats SUPPOSED to help them get back on their feet.

Houstonians got nothing in return but an increase in crime!! Everyday you will see someone getting shot, stabbed, or robbed and 80% of the time it has to do with someone from N.O.

Now you tell me, how are we taking advantage of anything?

Now that i think about it....maybe we SHOULD apply for FEMA help because our city is now a distaster area from all the crap we have to deal with on a day to day basis! We need to spend that money on security systems, guns and guard dogs to ensure the safety of our families!!

honey, I don't know from what source you got it from, but its way off. So, us the Houstonians deserve some kind of appreciation for taking some evacuees?? Ha, we get the uphigh crime rate, hell f ucking no. We don't need that. It needs to go back to where it came from. Thank you. Make sure you get your information correct.
