Give a page reference - fine. But don't paste the whole yard-long entry - you didn't write it, you only copied it and it's BORING!!

Does anyone else get totally bored by the cut and paste artists who fill space with unoriginal thought?

I agree! I especialy don't like seeing those answers getting picked as best. There 'are' times when I'd like stuff from over the internet (though I prefer links then), but the majority of the time I am wanting people's own personal opinions.

I had a question titled: "What is an eerie passion for self flattery?" and half of the answers I got were just the definition of (or a synonym for) self flattery.
I can look up definitions of words easy enough.

Another thing that is annoying is when you post a poem and people just tell you how much or little they like your poem but don't give you any clue as to what makes them feel that way.
Like someone thought my poem was so unoriginal and awful but they couldn't even tell take a moment to tell me why this way.........

It's fine unless they paste an extensively long answer. If the answer is too long, people don't tend to bother to read it.

I agree, but they are using reference to back up their opinion. Short, to the point references should be used instead. It causes a person to lose interest.

I actually think there should be a word limit on the answers. I wouldn't make it too small, because some people have something interesting to say, but sometimes you see whole masses of stuff, that they have obviously not typed.
Would anyone read all that?
Of course, I don't suppose that many of us have original thoughts, so I wouldn't blame them for that. Just for wasting their time.

I only cut and paste my own answers to:

"What is the meaning of Life?"
"Will the world End"
"Who killed JFK?"
"What was the turning point in WWII?"
"When will WWIII start?"
"Does Iran have nukes?"
"Will NorKor invade the south?"
"Would you kill Hitler when he was a baby?"
"What point in history would you like to visit?"
"Who was the best general of all times?"
"What came first, the chicken or egg?"
"If humans evolved from apes, why are they still around?"

Yep. I KNOW how to look stuff up on Wikipedia; the reason I ask questions is usually to get a more personal answer than reference sites provide.

Yes, it is called palgerism!! ...

Sometimes my answers are waaaayyy too long... but I rarely cut and paste...

and when I do paste something... I at least give a source for it!...

Oh.. and if it is over about 20 lines.. I rarely read it all.

Yea. A paragraph or two is fine. If the question requires more then a link would do just fine.
