I have been using medicated Blistex for 15 years now, it's a great healer for sensitive lips and continual use will prevent the chapping.
Try to refrain from constant licking or nibbling of your lips, that is a major cause of chapped lips and can lead to scaring if not treated
You can purchase the Blistex medicated at your local pharmacy, they sell it in the yellow tube, or the blue stick....
I feel for you, hope one of these can help you.....

Your lips chapped dued to dehydration, medications, or the environment you are in. Here are a few things you could try to ease your lips and : ) again....

1. If you do pick on your lips, stop. You could lead it to getting infection.
2. Try to exfoliate your lips about twice a week. With a moisted toothbrush, mix baking soda and water, and gently brush it in small circular motion onto your lips for about 20 seconds, then rinse it with warm water.
3. Always wear lip protections with an SPF15 everyday when you are out during the day.
4. Apply some petroletum(vaseline) before you go to bed every night.
5. Keep yourself hydrated and enjoy your summer!

Start wearing lipstick. I don't go out of the house without it and my lips have never (really, never) been chapped. However, you may need to evaluate your habits. Are you constantly licking your lips? You may not realize it if it has become really bad. Try to notice - if you are licking your lips constantly nothing will help until you stop.

You know ever since i got braces my lips have constantly felt extreamly dry and chapped. they cracked and i even had cracks on the sides of my lips b.c they were so dry and chapped. I went to bath and body works and picked up a lip gloss by CO Bigelow and its called my favorite lip balm. it contains shea butter which will moisturize your lips and sweet almond oil which helps with the flavor a little. many chapsticks sting your lips but when you put on this balm it just feels so hydrating and luxurious to your parched smile!

My best friend moved to Reno a few years back and the dry desert causes your lips to chap easily. She uses a medicated chap stick.

Use vaseline petroleum jelly at nights...apply to lips before going to bed. Mary Kay has some thing called satin lips. There is a mask for lips and gloss. These work for me.

The yellow medicated Blistex tube is fabulous! You can also try to put olive oil on your lips or honey.... both helped me a lot in winter when I had chapped lips. Good luck :)

The best chapstick for very chapped lips is called "Dr. Dan's cortibalm". I work for a dermatologist and we sell it from my office, but you can order it online. It is the only over-the-coutner chapstick with cortisone in it. It will smooth out your lips in no time! :)
