Usually it's because they cannot accept themselves. We live in a world in which it is much easier for people to say "I hate you", than it is to say, "I love you". Therefore, always simply be who you want to be or are... those that care don't matter, and those that truely matter in life don't care.

I think some people have difficulty dealing with others who they don't deem to be an equal. When you are more successful or more attractive or what-have-you than another, some feel the need to "level" you. That means that there is an attempt to "bring you down" to the level they believe they are situated. As a recipient of this action, it often feels hurtful doesn't it?? Know, however, that the issue lies within the other person. Some people have emotional issues of their own that they can't or haven't resolved or can't recognize, and as temporary relief, putting others down or being less than kind allows them to feel better about themselves.

Here's one to get the juices flowing. I heard we all come into
this world with a mission. And some peoples mission is to
be a "pain in the a+se". To teach us patience and tolerance.
Who cares if it's any old body. But what about when it's a
loved one eh?

People apparently like others that think, do, act just like them... while those that don't get pushed to the wayside...

It seems that alot of people 'conform' to the way certain people think, act, do... There is no need for it... be yourself, don't turn into something you're not just to be accepted...

you may think it's cool to belong to that group now, but inside you feel like crap for selling yourself out and conforming and converting to a way of life that was never your own to begin with

Conformity is the trumpet-sound of the demise of individuality... remember that.....

It is because we dont understand them or know anything about them except for what is drilled into us by older people or the media... Intolerance of race, gender, religion and even - appearance (fat or thin) gives you a "pre-programmed" idea of somebody. Fear of the unknown (things that are foreign to you).

It's unexplainable. Some people are just like that. Maybe they expect others to be like them and wen others are different, they rebel.
