Honey, the aliens are already here, and no one yet has been able to decode the "continued on other calendar" cleverly hidden at the bottom of the first rock.

It doesn't exactly "predict" anything.
Here's the scoop.
On 12-21-2012, the 13th Baktun of the Mayan Long Count calendar begins. This is like our calendar going from 1999 to 2000 except that a Baktun is 396 years long. 13 is one of the Maya's sacred numbers.
Also on 12-21-2012, there is a once in 26,000 year alignment between the Sun & the Milky Way at dawn which to the Maya signified the dawn of a new world age.
Speculation is that that Maya engineered the 13th Baktun to start on the same day as this alignment.
Jose Arguelles is one of the worse writers ever. If you want to read a good book on this subject, read "Maya Cosmogenesis 2012" by John Major Jenkins.
Also, this has nothing to do with aliens. NOTHING.

the date of dec 21 2012 refered to in the Mayan calendar is the time when the harmonic convergence of our solar system in relation to the galaxy ends that's all its kinda like one revolution of the galaxy but a little more complicated.. the date has no more significance then if you said the the end of the year is coming will aliens take over the world .. harmonic convergence occurs about every 25,000 years whats more interesting is how they knew this because they are correct

Actually, the prediction is that Quetzalcoatl, one of their chief gods, will return (in some form)...as he's done time and again, given their belief in cyclical time. Anyway, the LAST time this auspicious date popped up was in 1498, when Hernan de Cortez arrived on their coast. Which, by the way, gets MY personal vote for the WORST coincidence in history. That's why the Aztecs thought Cortez and his men were gods...not because of their canons or anything else; it was the DATE.
So, it'll be very interesting to see what happens this time around, eh?

change upon the Earth,itself, volcanoes,floods,pan-
demics, scary stuff, but keep the faith.

No, I don't because there are no such thing as space aliens, ghosts, and all the rest. Many predicted changes have never materialized. I wouldn't worry about it at all, frankly.
