I don't believe the PS2 has a wireless modem so yes you will need network cables from your router to your PS2.

(I have checked Sony's website but there is no reference if the new slim PS2's are wireless or not, and I have the older model PS2 with an add-on modem)

No you will not-but you will need any required PS2 devices that Sony may or may not require. The Linksys wireless gaming router should take care of the fact that you don't need the cable.

If you want, you can even get a booster to increase the speed of your gaming.

you will choose a replica of an deploy CD from somebody, because it has slightly piece of utility that manages and exams the relationship between your workstation and the cyber web. besides the shown fact that, via fact it is not extremely tied by ability of serial selection to one router and one workstation (familiar) you may snag a replica from any chum who has a Linksys router. Fetch it, and installation would be a breeze - quarter-hour, max! as quickly as you unplug each little thing, then load the CD and stick to on-show screen training, pop, yer up. additionally, the Linksys help persons are friendly, affected person, sensible. you may anticipate them. in the previous you call, examine that little tiny serial selection on the backside of the router and characteristic it handy.
