I used to have a dog that was Diabetic, and subsequently blind. The dog had a doctor's appointment, and had been fasting. I went out side on this particularly hot day, and started my van and turned the air conditioner on High. Then I went in the house, picked up my little blind dog, and carried him out, shutting the door behind me. I proceeded to put the dog in the passenger seat of the van, (that was running), then locked and shut the door. It took me about 5 seconds to realize that not only was I locked out of my house, but I was also locked out of my van, which was running, and had my blind Diabetic dog that had, had nothing to eat or drink for 12 hours, in it.
I ran to a neighbor's house, and called Triple A, and BLESS THEM...they determined that to be an emergency situation, and were there in less than half an hour. Now, I have keys outside my house, extra keys in my purse, and a funny but valuable lesson learned in my memories.

Yes! I accidentally locked me and my daughter out of the house in the wintertime...my daughter was cold and had to go to the bathroom...so I kicked down the door....surprisingly in 3 kicks...

I've locked myself out of my car but I always keep spare keys in a secret compartment underneath the car....my truck I never have because I arm and lock it at the same time.

Yes and Yes

My friend locked the keys in my mom's car and we had to call my dad to come and unlock it for us.

And my parents locked me out of the house and left while I was in the woods ~_~

Yes -- I locked myself out of my car at Wal-Mart. I bought a cart load of groceries, and realized I couldn't get into the car. I had to call my husband and have him come open the door for me.

When I was in junior high, I forgot to take my keys to school with me, and I got home to find no one home. I had to sit outside until my dad came home from work. I felt pretty stupid.

Yes. Ditto.

The worst... I locked my son in the car with my keys when he was a toddler. (Yes, I won the "worst mom of the year award" with that one.) Oddly enough, a guy saw what was going on, pulled over, and unlocked the door with some jimmy tool thingy. (Yes, that's exactly what it's called.) Thank goodness!

Yes and that is the reason I carry a spare now. I have had to use a coathanger to get into my car and had to break into my own house before through a window.

Ok picture this...I was running to my van with a bag of groceries in each arm while it was pouring down rain and water rising on the ground. I stick the key in my door and it breaks off...lol

Lucky though the very back of the van the door was unlocked so I managed to crawl over the back seats to get in. I was drenched along with the groceries but it could have been worse. :o)
