Personally, I don't think it would look bad, but I would hate for others to get a bad impression of him. He's a nice kid and smart, too. Am I being too liberal? He's been asking for about a year. Yes, I do care what others think. I work in the school that he attends. Thank you for your help.

I work in a school where quite a few boys have their ears pierced. I don't think that it is a bad thing. Honestly, if people want to think something bad of him, they will use anything. KWIM? It is a pet peeve of mine when people jump to conclusions based on looks. I think that if you don't mind and he will take care of it... then let him do it.

I think that they are adorable on guys and little boys. (Your son would probably hate the idea that I called him a little boy!) I have a 6 yr old son that just this summer asked if he could get his ear pierced. I did not hesitate one bit to discuss it with him at a depth he could understand. We told him that he could do it but if he changed his mind later on that he had to pay us back for the cost of the earring etc.(It was only 10 dollars) out of his allowance. That was the one thing that he agreed to so we took him and he loves it. Plus he looks adorable and no one has made any derogatory comments about him. Actually everyone loves it and we live in a town of 1000 people so the people are very judgmental about things like that. I say let him go for it but remind him he has to take care of it or it comes out and he has to pay you back.

I don't think that an ear ring is the worst thing that could happen to him. Most young guys have their ears pierced. When he gets older he probably won't want to wear the ear ring anymore. If he's smart and a good kid then I think you should let him get his ear pierced. If he changes his mind later he can always take the ear ring out.

unfortunatly most people are going to assume things such as he's gay or a punk but really..you know your son, friends and co-workers, family etc know how he is and the type of person he is so if your comfortable let him do it. It's not going to change who he is and if his appearance upsets someone you'll never again see (strangers etc) who cares? My husband gets horrible looks because he's heavily modified but he's an amazing father and a wonderful husband...please do not let some peoples beliefs stop you from doing something you think is fine and your son wants

If you work in the school your son attends then i am sure everybody knows him by now and so they should already know how nice or intelligent he is and in that case it wont be a big deal, i really doubt that people will judge him.

Im just gonna be honest so please dont be mad but I think if a boy has an earring it makes him look like a punk or rebel. And he doesnt sound like either of them. It makes him look a little not on the straight side too.

I have a 13 year old son. My husband and I are both opposed to male piercings.
Our society tends to stereotype piercings and tattoos. I wouldn't let him do it. Tell him to wait till he turns 18, that way it will be his mistake not yours.
