J. Duchscherer(Oak-RP)I think he's filling in for the injured H. Street.
D. Wheeler(Hou-RP)I think he's closing for the Astros because Lidge is having some trouble.
Is this true?

What about T. Coffey and D. Weathers?
Is one of them going to be the Reds closer while Guardado is gone?

Is A. Rhodes any good?

I watch the Reds a lot, and if I had to guess, I think they would go with Weathers because he's a veteran. Coffey really struggled in the role earlier in the season. Or they could use Bill Bray, it looks like a committe situation, but if they have to pick one I'm guessing it's Weathers, I just picked him up for Huston Street who I put on the DL.

Duchscherer and Calero will split the chances in Oakland until Street gets back, but I think Duchscherer (who got the save yesterday) will get slightly more opportunties.

Wheeler got the save yesterday for Houston, I still think they want to work Lidge in, but Wheeler seems to be the guy they go to when they come to their senses and keep Lidge as far away from the mound as possible.

Hope this helps some!

Duchscherer is the better bet during the next week and a half or so while Street is on the DL. Lidge is having some problems but manager Phil Garner has said that he is going with the bullpen-by-committee method. Wheeler might get more saves than Duchscherer over the rest of the season if Lidge doesn't rebound.

Yes it's true......but for how long is unclear. All I see on Street is that he has a strained groin and is on the 15 day DL. Duchscherer should get the bulk of the saves in the meantime but they also say that that guy Calero might see a few chances as well. If Street's injury is more serious then this will turn out to be a great pick up. As far as Dan Wheeler -- I picked him up as well. Lidge has sucked so bad that Garner couldn't possibly go back to him as a closer...I hope. Good pick up if you can get him. You might also look to see who the Reds are going to give the saves to. Everyday Eddie just went on the DL in Cincinnati.

Duch is the closer while Street is out and has already picked up two since the injury.

Wheeler is the closer in houston now as Lidge has been relegated to set up duties.

They are taking a closer by committee approach in cinci but former Blue Jay Scott Schoenweiss picked up the save last night I think they want a lefty closer and this he may get some more chances.

I have had Wheeler for a while now because bullpen help is so weak and he has not gotten me much of anything. He is the air apparent. Duchscherer is a good pick up while Street is out.

From what I've heard, most of those teams are going with "closer by committee." I think Duchscherer is the best bet of this group to get saves, but it's really anybody's guess who each manager will stick with.
