I used to have really bad skin too. I went on Accutane which your dermotologist would have to prescribe. It's serious stuff - your skin and entire body become insanely dry - like you can't funtion without lip balm and lotion near you at all times. I got a teeny tiny scratch on my arm while I was on it and it's still a scar - 10 years later. And your acne gets worse at first. And you have to go have a blood test once a month - not fun. But it really worked in the long run. Now, I wash my face twice a day with a gentle soap (neutrogena). I don't put any chemicals on my face anymore - even when it ocassionally breaks out, it goes away without any chemicals in a few days.

I also was obsessed with eating a low-fat diet for years and the minute I tried a carb-free diet, my skin and hair and nails looked amazing. I didn't lose weight, but the extra healthy fats (olive oil, avocado, nuts) in my diet totally made a difference. I'm not saying that's your solution, but I saw a big difference.

Oh, and for a few years when I was a teenager, I figured out that the carmel coloring in coke (it's what makes it brown in color) caused me to break out extra. I avoided it for a few years, but it doesn't cause problems anymore. Experiment with things that you eat! It might be part of the problem.

Try another dermatologist, sincerely. In my experience, not every dermatologist treats acne as seriously as s/he could. If you can find a cosmetic dermatologist in your area, that's probably a step in the right direction. There are plenty of antiobiotics besides tetracyclines (minocin is a type of tetracycline) that can treat acne, and other prescription medications besides antibiotics, too.

Have you considered birth control pills? There are many different formulas available, and some of them might help clear up your breakouts. That's what worked best for me. I did have to try a few different pills before I found one that worked, but it was worth it.

Also, as you're trying products, be sure you're not overdrying your skin, which can cause your body to produce excessive amounts of oil to compensate and just makes the acne worse -- a real vicious circle. If your face feels tights after cleansing, the cleanser you're using is too harsh.

Keep trying, and keep working with different doctors until you find one you like and who's as committed as you are to solving the problem.

I was like u...until I found this out: Your pores are clogged with dirt, so do that chamommile thing with steam (I don't know too much English, sorry:() so your pores will be opened, pop your big pimples, use proactive or whatever u like to use after this and finally use an astringent lotion to close your pores so the dirt won't come back again...I used this method and now my face is lovely!

How is your diet? Do you eat fatty foods and confectionery? You need to eat healthy foods, including lots of vegetables and drink lots of water, keeping away from sweetened drinks. Get some regular exercise to. A body healthy on the inside shows on the outside. Cleanse you face daily and use a non greasy moisturizer.

Don't worry about looking younger than your age... when you get to 40 and still look younger than your age you'll be really happy!

Adolescence doesn't last forever, soon your pimple problem will just be a bad memory. :)

I wouldn't use so many products because mixing them is bad for your skin. Honestly, I know it sounds simple but just use Noxema. It is great for your face, I had a problem with my face breaking out, and my brother as well. I wash my face with noxema cream in the morning, and in the afternoon I use the noxema pads for your face, and at night I wash again with noxema. It works great. Also, take a break from makeup for a few days, its works wonders!

Hope I could help

god im so sorry. i know how you feel. at this point id say get a different dermatologist. not all dermatologists are created equal. also dont pick your zits. it just makes it worse, believe me. and if there's a particularly big one, ice it. the swelling will go down faster. personally, proactiv has worked pretty good for me. it hastne given me a completely clear face but its definetely helped.

Have you thought about going to an allergist to be skin tested? I had acne problems and tried just about everything. Then my massage therapist suggested food allergies....and guess what??? I am allergic to wheat and yeast...that is what was causing my acne. Worth a shot! Good luck and DON'T pick at them...they WILL scar.
