Yes he could talk. The story goes, as Groucho tells it, that in the beginning of their stage acting days, Harpo could never remember his lines. It became such a problem that they decided it'd be better if he didn't talk at all. The rest is history! :)

So He actually COULD play the Harp? I thought he only pretended to play the harp and was only Miming to someone OFFSCREEN who was ACTUALLY playing it.
