The movie of course is condense; it does not cover the relationship of Elizabeth & Charlotte Lucas, only give a brief insight to the attempt of Mr. Collins to court Elizabeth, Mr Darcy's sister and her relationship with Mr Wickham, Mr Bingley and his sisters, the marriage of her younger sister to Mr Wickham. Lady Catherine De Burgh was worthy of 2 chapters in the novel, or the future of Elizabeth's 2 sisters,Kitty and Mary. The movie was good, the A&E miniseries was 6 hours long and every minute was delightful by all means buy the DVD. The book is the best I've read it twice, all 720 pages of it.

one is watched, in a theatre, or, perhaps, at home, the other is read. if you're forced to compare them, i suggest you ask which version of the movie you should compare the book to, watch it, and, then, read the book. thereafter, one hopes, you will form your own opinion regarding the subject(s). you might try asking for ticket or rental money.
