The answer will be "It depends."
Can you tell your lawyer exactly how badly injured you are, how much work you will lose, how much money you will spend in medical bills? How much will be diagnostic services and how much will be therapy and doctor visits? Can you say what defenses the other side will find against you in the discovery process? Can you tell your lawyer exactly how much insurance coverage the other side carries? What kind of witness you would make?

You could. They normally won't have an answer for that since each case has its own issues and the people that determine the value of your case is usually the other side. Your attorney's responsibility is letting you know what's going on and advsing you of what rights you have to your situation.
