...I'd love my skin, hair, body etc. to look glowing - any tips for my detox i.e. "drink 8 glasses of water a day". This has nothing to do with reading "B**** manuals" - I've recently developed acne, so rather than "not being able to think for myself", I'd just like to improve my opinion of myself.

Erm, contrary to what your devil b*tch manuals (like Cosmo) tell you, the whole detox thing is a pile of horsesh*t. It's proven horsesh*t as well.

My only advice to you: stop embarrassing yourself by buying into this sh*t and stop beleiving in everything you read, hear and see. You know, it is ok to think for yourself for once...

I read this great book about detox and it's really helping me. Mainly its eat more fruit and vegetable, organic if possible, don't worry if it's not. Cut out dairy products and red meat.

I have problem skin but after reading this book and trying it out, my skin looked and felt better within two weeks.

Also drink more water, if you don't really like it try more watery fruit like melon.

The book is called Detox your world and you can find it at the address listed.
The author is called Shazzie and the book is easy to understand and very helpful.

You are already doing the best thing you can, drinking plenty of water! Avoid carbonated water, as this contains carbon dioxide, a waste product that the body will want to rid itself of quickly! Other things you can do to help yourself, are to avoid tea/coffee, junk food and sweets, especially chocolate!
Eat plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables and nuts, and try to add more roughage into your diet.

Your body detoxes naturally by drinking water to flush out stuff and by sleeping. The rest of it is a load of **** to get you to buy more.

too much water is bad for you - you need to add something to replace salts and nutrients you lose, an isotonitc drink as part of the regime every couple of glasses of water or add salt and sugar to water but this will taste bad compared to a flavored drink thats designed to replace stuff you lose in sweat and urine

Yes - drink Pomegrante juice and lots of water! The juice has antioxidants and it eliminates free radicals (those radicals have effects which show FIRST in skin) You're real smart for identifying that so early - good luck!
