macs are ONLY made by apple. there's no other company which makes macs.

There used to be three other companies that made Mac years ago (1995-1997) until Apple realised that licensing clones was eating into their bottom line. Mainly because apple charges a lot for their machines. Too much in fact. At that time I recall the Power Mac 7200 was out and cost around $2200. UMAX came out with the exact same machine with more memory and hardrive space for $1200. It was at that time Apple became pissed with the clone makers and yanked their license to make apple clones.
So apple did what it always does. Run away from business innovation and continue to make proprietary systems. You can look up UMAC, Apple really did a number on those guys. Or you can look at the mark up on Ipods. Something like 400%

Apple created Macintosh computers. There's no other companies that makes Macintosh computers that I know of.
