It depends on your body pre-pregnancy, how you take care of yourself during pregnancy (eating and exercise habits), the type of pregnancy. Everyone is different. Some show quicker with their second.

Well, usually you get bigger with subsequent children. I come from a family of doctors and nurses, and the basic principles go something like this (assuming a similar weight gain each time, and good health):

1) The 1st time you're pregnant, your body has never been stretched in that manner before. You may even feel sharp pains as your skin and muscles expand and stretch in new ways. There is a hormone (relaxin) that aids your body in this. You will have to exercise to get those muscles to "snap back" after the pregnancy.

2) The 2nd time you are pregnant, your muscles have "memory" of the 1st pregnancy. It is much the same as getting back on a bike. Riding a bike again is much easier than the first time when you had to teach your muscles to respond, right? Well, it's much the same with pregnancy. Your body will "remember" what it was to be pregnant, and prepare itself for the pregnancy.

I wouldn't be too concerned about whether you are appearing bigger in a 2nd pregnancy. If you are in reasonably good shape, and have a healthy amount of weight gain, then you can expect to be fine afterwards. You will have to exercise and tone your body (unless you're just genetically blessed!), but that is totally possible and attainable. Might I also suggest that breast feeding is the way to go to get those post-pregnancy pounds off!! Basically, the fat in your body is diverted to the making of the breast milk, and you can eat like a horse and STILL lose weight. I was able to breast feed my 2nd child, and that was the easiest weight I've ever lost in my life. If you can breast feed, don't pass is up--it's awesome in many ways.

depends on a few things. My boys are 1 1/2 years apart. With my first I gained 60 pounds. With the second I only gained 10. The doctor said it was fine that I only gained 10 because my babies were so close together. So my 2nd was basically living in my 1st son's spot for 9 months.

There is not a rule. It all depends on food, exercise, health condition of the mother. Usually, mothers gain little weight. But after giving birth to child, they keep gaining weight. Unless they excersize and diet after the first child, they will be fatty and big when they go for the second child.

All pregnancys are different. But usually 1st.due to the over excitement of their first baby and the anticipation. They tend to eat alot and think it will come off w/ the baby. It doesn't always happen like that. They also want EVERYBODY to know so they start to wear maternity clothes at 2 months. Those clothes cover alot.

With your second pregnancy you form faster than what you do in your first pregnancy.

It depends on so many factors, but many women do get larger after having a child.
